Amelia Brown
Defensive Mid
Hometown: Cary, NC
School: University. of Minnesota and UNCC
A defensive midfielder with nearly 70 games of Division I experience under her belt, Amelia Brown arrives in Eagan for her first season with Aurora FC.
Brown joins the club following two seasons with the UNC-Charlotte 49ers, captaining that squad during the 2025 campaign. That season saw Brown tally a single-season career best three goals, while starting all 18 matches for Charlotte.
Brown ultimately landed a spot on the American Athletic Conference’s All-Conference Second Team at the end of 2025.
2024 saw the Cary, NC native play a career-high 19 matches in a 49ers shirt, playing the sixth-most minutes (1,507) of any field player on the Charlotte roster that season.
Prior to her pair of seasons in the Queen City, Brown spent 2 years at the University of Minnesota, featuring in 32 total matches for the Gophers before returning to her home state. Over the course of the 2022 and 2023 seasons, Brown played nearly 2,000 total minutes and contributed 3 points.
While Brown may be a newcomer to Aurora FC, she is not a stranger to the USL W League. The college standout suited up for NC Courage U23s – the W League affiliate of the NWSL’s North Carolina Courage – during the league’s inaugural season in 2022, where she played in 10 matches.
Brown opted to eschew the traditional high school soccer route, instead playing for NC Courage’s ECNL squad, where she was ranked as a top 50 midfielder in the country in 2022.
