Assa Kante

Following her first-ever Aurora season in 2024, Kante rejoins the club in 2025.

A native of Kansas, Kante did not appear in a match during 2024, as she rehabbed from an injury. During her rehabilitation, Kante trained regularly with the first team.

At the college level, the defender plays for University of Kansas, a program she has been part of since 2022. Across two seasons, Kante has appeared in 33 matches for the Jayhawks, starting 28.

After suffering a season-ending injury as a sophomore, which caused her to miss the entire 2023 season, Kante returned to the squad in 2024, logging a career high 20 appearances with 19 starts. She played every minute of Kansas’ final six matches, helping the Jayhawks to their second-ever Big 12 championship.

As a freshman in 2022, Kante made 13 appearances for Kansas, earning Big 12 Freshman of the Week honors once that season.

Kante is the daughter of Daouda, who played college soccer at Florida International University in Miami and was later signed by the New England Revolution of Major League Soccer.
