A two-time Big West Goalkeeper of the Year and one of the most decorated goalkeepers in Cal State Fullerton women’s soccer history, Isaac Ranson joins Minnesota Aurora FC for his first season with the club in 2026.
Ranson, a native of Ventura, California, arrives in Eagan after a five-year career with Cal State Fullerton, where he became the Titans’ all-time leader in career saves, individual shutouts, and minutes played. Across his collegiate career, Ranson totaled 347 saves, 31 individual shutouts, and 6,934 minutes in goal.
After redshirting in 2021, Ranson became an immediate presence for the Titans as a redshirt freshman in 2022, appearing in all 20 matches while making 19 starts. He recorded 94 saves, six clean sheets, and a .817 save percentage, earning All-Big West Second Team and All-Big West Freshman Team honors. He was also named Big West Defensive Player of the Week twice and Big West Freshman Player of the Week once.
As a redshirt sophomore in 2023, Ranson continued his rise as one of the top goalkeepers in the conference. He started all 19 of his appearances, recording 91 saves, seven individual shutouts, a .835 save percentage, and a 0.95 goals against average. Ranson led the Big West in goals against average and save percentage that season, earning Big West Goalkeeper of the Year, All-Big West First Team, and three Big West Defensive Player of the Week honors.
In 2024, Ranson started all 20 matches for the Titans, playing 1,758 minutes while making 96 saves. He finished the season with five individual shutouts, six total shutouts, a .814 save percentage, and a 1.13 goals against average, earning All-Big West Honorable Mention recognition.
Ranson capped off his collegiate career with a historic 2025 season, starting 19 of his 20 appearances and playing 1,755 minutes. He recorded 13 individual shutouts, 66 saves, a .892 save percentage, and a 0.41 goals against average, while allowing just eight goals all season. He helped lead a Titans defense that conceded the fewest goals nationally and finished with the best goals allowed average in the country.
For his efforts, Ranson was named the 2025 Big West Goalkeeper of the Year and earned All-Big West First Team honors for the second time in his career. He became the fourth goalkeeper in Big West history to earn Goalkeeper of the Year multiple times, joining Karen Bardsley, Cynthia Jacobo, and Jovani McCaskill.
