ABOUT THE CLUB
Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the Twin Cities with over 5000 community owners across 50 states and 19 countries. The club has two teams and plays in the pre-professional USL W League and UPSL Women’s League, starring and featuring the best amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and across the globe. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching staff.

The Aurora 2 Head Coach for UPSL position is part time, seasonal, and starts March 9, 2025. The Aurora 2 Head Coach reports to the Head Coach of the USL-W team. The office is located in Eagan, MN. Aurora 2 training will be at TCO Stadium, generally in the morning. Aurora 2 games will be at a different Twin Cities stadium location to be determined.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Recruiting: Assist with tryout(s); Assist with identifying, contacting, and recruiting appropriate players for A2
- Training: Plan and execute A2 Training; Work with A1 Head Coach to ensure compatible coaching practices across both teams; Work with A1 Head Coach to share players as needed; Maintaining the equipment in orderly condition and assuming responsibility for its security
- Games: Lead A2 game day preparations; Plan and execute an effective game plan; Create a healthy game-day team culture; Aim to win and develop players through game day teaching
- Video Analysis: Analyze Aurora film and scout opponents; Develop Scouting Reports
- Player Development: Help all players develop skills and game understanding; Provide team and individualized feedback and constructive criticism; Analyze and clip film to use as a teaching tool to develop players, help players develop a highlight tape
- Staff Development: Assist A1 Head Coach with leading and teaching coaching staff
- Squad Selection: Select squad members for each fixture; Enure players left off the squad are getting training; Keep A1 Head Coach informed of A2 player performance
- Administrative: Assist with various administrative duties, such as meal planning and gear organization, etc. as needed.
- Off-Season: Attend and lead pre-season video call meetings; Assist with pre- and post-season training and workload as needed
- Coach Development: Desire to continue evolving as a coach; Openness to new ideas; Reflective; Have a growth mindset
- Coaching Staff Interaction: Collaborative with other staff, Ability to have open, respectful, direct dialogue, Understand and execute your role within the larger staff
- Coach Conduct: Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Complete Safe Sport Certification and pass a background check
- Experience coaching in diverse Twin Cities communities
- Minimum of 2 years coaching experience
- Coach Licensure (USSF, USC, UEFA, etc.)
- Ability to co-create a healthy team culture (cultivating intrinsic motivation, interpersonal respect, high commitment, collaborating with a diverse group of people, etc.)
- Must commit to Minnesota Aurora being a priority in season, May-July. Must attend all trainings, matches, meetings, etc. Must be available to work during weekends, early mornings, nights, and holidays based on game and training schedule.
COMPENSATION
The Head Coach for UPSL, A2 role is part time, seasonal, and starts March 9, 2025.
- In-Season (May-July): $5,000 + Bonus eligible (refer below)
- Out-of-Season: $35/hour for agreed-upon hours

- $250 for advancing to the UPSL Midwest West Division Championship Match
- $250 for winning UPSL Midwest West Division
