As a freshman at the University of Kansas, Wimes played minutes in nearly every match, scoring her first goal as a Jayhawk against Yale (9/11) and finding the back of the net a second time for her first multi-goal game. Wimes ended her season with six points (2 goals, 2 assists), 14 shots, and 731 minutes of game time.

At the prep level, Wimes led St. Teresa’s Academy to third place in Class 4A in 2021, winning the district and sectional championship during the . She played for Kansas City Current II in the 2022 WPSL season.
