Minnesota Aurora FC Seeks President to Lead Club’s Next Chapter
Minnesota Aurora FC is seeking an experienced, strategic leader to serve as the club’s next President and help guide the organization into its next chapter. Based in Eagan, Minnesota, the President will oversee the club’s business and operational strategy, lead and support its internal team, grow revenue opportunities, and build strong relationships with the Board of Directors, community owners, fans, partners, players and stakeholders. Job Title: PRESIDENT
Location: Eagan, MN
Status: Full time salaried
Compensation: $125,000 – $175,000 annual base salary based on experience. The
position is bonus eligible and includes a competitive benefits package.
ABOUT THE CLUB
Minnesota Aurora FC is a community-owned women’s soccer team based in the
Twin Cities with over 5000 community owners across all 50 states and 19
countries. The club plays in the pre-professional USL W League starring and
featuring the best amateur and aspiring professional players from Minnesota and
across the globe. The club is operated by a women-led front office and coaching
staff.

The position reports to the Chair of the Board of Directors. Aurora’s Headquarters
are in Eagan, MN.
The President for Minnesota Aurora is the chief executive of the organization,
responsible for managing financial and governance operations, and acting as the
primary liaison between the board, staff, fans, and external stakeholders.
The President serves as a trusted advisor and operational manager for Aurora,
ensuring smooth execution of our priorities and initiatives. This includes driving and
building revenue channels, budget management, coordinating communication
across the organization, prioritizing and tracking projects and tasks, acting as a
sounding board for ideas, and overseeing key projects.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Facilitate efficient growth, communicate effectively, implement process & systems
● Act as a liaison between the internal staff, Board and others inside and
outside the organization. Facilitate key projects within the organization.
● Work with Aurora team to ensure board approved budget is met – keeping
spend at or below budget and revenue at or above approved budget.
● Build and grow revenue opportunities for the organization.
● Oversee the creation of board reporting including overall revenue and
business updates and regular financial reporting.
● Supervise department heads including sporting and understand what is
happening with every aspect of the organization and hold the team
accountable to results.
● Create systems to ensure clear lines of communication and coordination
between departments.
Build, support and oversee the internal team to ensure operational effectiveness
● Oversee staff, performance tracking and accountability, and as needed,
hiring and training of new employees.
● Provide support and work collaboratively to allocate resources as appropriate
among departments.
● Manage onboarding program for new employees ensuring knowledge
transfer of Aurora values and expectations.
● Annual job reviews and recommendations to board for compensation and
staffing.
● Responsible for creating safe and confidential reporting systems for staff,
volunteers, coaches, fans and players consistent with Aurora policies and
league requirements.
Identify and mitigate potential issues and risks:
● Monitor the business landscape, anticipate challenges and oppportunities,
and alert the Board Chair to potential challenges.
● Ensure all contracts are reviewed, properly executed and organized.
● Ensure Aurora’s policies are reviewed and adhered to by all members of the
organization.
● Ensure proper systems, processes and individuals are in place to ensure
Player Safety.
Developing and maintaining relationships:
● Build strong connections with key internal and external stakeholders.
● Attend all Aurora home games to ensure fan experience and sponsors are
appropriately represented.
● Act as a spokesperson for the organization.
● Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner during all
games and events.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
● Strong financial and business acumen required
● Experience driving revenue and profit & loss statements
● Strong organizational skills with experience managing effective teams.
● Accountable for outcomes – work with a high degree of accountability and
expect the same from others.
● Proven sound decision-making ability in a dynamic environment.
● Experience working with Human Resources and Legal teams
● Experience working with media and public speaking.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships
between staff and external partners.
● Proactive and strategic mindset.
● Background in sports management or soccer, preferred.
● Ability to work collaboratively with board members, volunteers, and other
team departments.
● Successful completion of Safe Sport & Background check
● Ability to roll up their sleeves and join in where needed.
