Minnesota Aurora Announces New Board Chair and Expands Sponsorship Strategy
As women’s sports continue to surge, Minnesota Aurora positions itself for its next phase of growth
EAGAN, Minn. (Sept. 23, 2026) – Minnesota Aurora FC is entering its next phase of growth with new leadership and an expanded focus on commercial partnerships.
The community-owned women’s soccer club has named Laura Bishop as Chair of its Board of Directors and has appointed The Superlative Group, Inc., a global leader in naming rights and sponsorship strategy, to help identify and secure new commercial partnerships.
Bishop became a Minnesota Aurora Community Owner in 2022 and joined the Board as the Community Owner elected representative in 2025. Her leadership background spans public, private and civic sectors, including serving as Commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency and holding executive roles at Best Buy. She currently serves as a commissioner on the Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and as a Senior Fellow and adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
“Minnesota Aurora has built something incredibly special- a club powered by its community, passionate supporters and a belief in what women’s soccer can become,” said Bishop. “As women’s sports continue to reach new audiences and attract greater investment, we have an opportunity to build on what our community has created and bring new partners into the Aurora family.”
The Superlative Group will work with the club to expand its sponsorship strategy and connect with brands looking to reach the rapidly growing audience around women’s sports.
