Aurora Defender Paola Then called up to U20 Dominican National Team
Eagan, MN – Defender Paola Then has been called up to represent the Dominican Republic for the Under 20 upcoming Concacaf Championships May 20-June 4. Then trained with the senior level team during their Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers. The Dominican Republic did not qualify for this summer’s World Cup in New Zealand.
As a defender at Iowa Lakes Community College, Paola Then notched two goals and one assist this past season. Then is training with Aurora now and will join her country’s team next week for the Championships in her hometown of Santo Domingo from May 24 – June 3. Then is the first player from the Caribbean to play for Aurora. Then will return to Minnesota after the tournament for the remainder of the Aurora season.
“Our team could not be more excited for Paola to represent her country and play at home for the U20 Concacaf Championship,” said head coach Nicole Lukic. “This is an exciting moment for all of us to see an Aurora player compete on a world stage.”
