Minnesota Aurora FC earns 1-0 win in weather-shortened match against Rochester FC
ROCHESTER, Minn. – Minnesota Aurora FC earned a 1-0 victory over Rochester FC in a weather-shortened match on Tuesday night at RCTC Stadium, extending its perfect record in 2026 with an 11th consecutive win. Angela Gutierrez scored the lone goal of the match, tallying her second of the season, while Thalia Morisi recorded her first assist of the campaign.
Aurora grabbed the lead in the first half through Gutierrez in the 33rd minute. Kalo Iongi played a short pass to Morisi at the top of the box. Morisi turned and played the ball to Gutierrez, who made a timely run into the box on the right side and delivered a well-placed strike from 15 yards out into the bottom left corner of the goal.
Goalkeeper Isaac Ranson earned the shutout in the shortened match, recording his third of the campaign. Morisi became the 12th different player to record an assist this season and Gutierrez the ninth to score multiple goals. As a team, Aurora has outscored its opponents 34-1, registering 10 shutouts in 2026.
Minnesota will play one final regular season match on Sunday, June 28, at RKC Third Coast, as they look to secure a perfect regular-season record. The June 28th match kicks off at 5 p.m.
Following the conclusion of the regular season, Aurora will travel for the USL W League Playoffs, starting the weekend of July 3 at a predetermined site. The semifinal round is scheduled for July 10, with the championship set for July 17. If Aurora advances and is awarded hosting rights, those matches could be played at TCO Stadium.
