Aurora is officially half way through the season, remaining undefeated and in first place in the Heartland division.

The season goes by fast, so in case you forgot — or haven’t kept up with us this season — here are some highlights from the Aurora’s season so far.

Cat Goes Crazy

Cat Rapp continues to be a key player for the Aurora, being the club’s top goal and point scorer this season with a combined 8 points, and 4 points. She scored the first goal of the season during in the club’s home opener against Rochester FC, adding to her all-time goal total of 19 goals, the highest in club history.

Five Rookies, Five Top Goal Scorers

Aurora’s rookies stepped up in major ways this season. Natalie Tavana, Kunie Hirai, Austin Miller, Elizabeth Overberg, and Camber Hayes are the five rookies making it onto Aurora’s top 10 point scorers for this season. Tavana was responsible for 2 goals and 3 assists this season, while Kunie Hirai — who was named Star of the Game during Aurora’s 2-0 victory over Sioux Falls — has 2 goals this season.

Clutch Goalie Genes

Another aspect of Aurora’s undefeated run is credited to the goalkeeper unit. Taylor Kane has already recorded 8 saves and 1 clean sheet in the 2 games she started for Aurora so far. Nadia Cooper is also a baller, recording 4 saves and 2 clean sheets in the 3 games she started for Aurora.
