Green Bay, Wis. – The 2023 Heartland Division champions wrapped up their final regular season road game with a 4-0 victory over the Green Bay Glory at Capital Credit Union Park on Thursday evening.

In the 20th minute, Maya Hansen dribbled down to the endline and crossed the ball into the six-yard box. Glory goalkeeper Larissa Likes jumped to make the save, but the ball tipped off of her gloves and into the back of the net. Hansen now leads Minnesota Aurora with 11 goals this season.

Aurora continued to press their attack and in the 27th minute Cat Rapp scored the team’s second goal of the night. Aurora’s attack boxed the Glory defense in and when they attempted to clear, Lydia Ruppert blocked the clearance with a header to Hansen. Hansen settled the ball and slipped a pass to Rapp for a 2-0 lead.

Forward Sophie French started the match in a center back role and even as a defensive anchor, French made her mark on the scoresheet. In the 64th minute, Hannah Adler served a cross into the 18-yard box from a corner kick and French headed the ball in for 3-0.

“For us this game is another moment to celebrate the depth of the squad. We know we can put anyone in at any moment in any game,” said Assistant Coach Jen Larrick. “Our roster depth is a huge strength of ours heading into playoffs. It keeps us fresh, and it’s hard for opponents to scout us because they don’t know who will start where.”

To close out the match, Brenlin Mullaney scored her first career goal with Minnesota Aurora. Hannah Adler split the Glory’s defense in the 88th minute, finding the feet of Mullaney to end the game 4-0.

Minnesota Aurora will return home to close out their regular season on July 1 at 4 p.m. CT against Chicago City SC. Saturday’s game is Aurora’s Black Lives Matter: Amplifying Black Voices game presented by St. Paul and Minnesota Foundation. As the Heartland Division winner, Aurora will play in the Central Conference semifinals on July 6 in Flint, Michigan. Time and opponent are to be determined.
